The First of Its Kind: Bitcoin Secured​

Corn has partnered with Babylon to become the world’s first Bitcoin Secured Network (BSN). By leveraging Babylon Bitcoin Staking, Corn is the first Ethereum Layer 2 to secure its network using both Bitcoin and Ethereum staking. This unique dual-layer approach makes Corn one of the safest and most efficient networks in the world, blending Ethereum's programmability with Bitcoin’s security.

Why Bitcoin Security?​

Bitcoin is the world’s strongest and most trusted asset. Given Corn’s focus on enabling Bitcoin in DeFi, it’s only natural for Bitcoin to play a critical role in securing the network as well. This alignment further strengthens Corn’s mission of delivering Bitcoin-centric programmability with Bitcoin-centric security, creating the best of both worlds.

What is Babylon?​

Babylon allows Bitcoin holders to contribute to the security of other systems and proof-of-stake (PoS) chains like Corn without needing to trust third parties. Instead of relying on wrapping or bridges, Babylon uses advanced cryptography to enable Bitcoin staking directly from the Bitcoin network. This means Bitcoin can help secure PoS chains while remaining in its native environment. By doing so, Babylon helps unlock the potential of idle Bitcoin, making it a powerful tool to protect decentralized networks.

Babylon Integration: Coming Soon​

While Corn is excited to become the first Bitcoin-Secured Network, the integration of Babylon’s security layer will not be available at the time of Corn’s Maizenet launch. However, the team is actively working on bringing this advanced feature shortly after launch. Once integrated, Babylon will strengthen Corn with Bitcoin staking, offering enhanced security and faster block finality.
