π Corn Network Deployment Phases
Building a network like Corn demands careful planning and execution. Thatβs why weβve adopted a phased approach to our launch, prioritizing security, stability, and long-term sustainability.
Phase 0 β Early Accessβ
Corn introduced Kernels, off-chain points that users could earn by depositing assets and engaging with the ecosystem. Kernels represented users' proportional share of the community $CORN allocation, but are not tokens themselves. This stage allowed for careful accounting and rewarding of value-additive early adopters/users' engagement with Corn's ecosystem.
The Kernel Phase ended on December 12th, 2024 with the launch of the Corn Network and the Kernel Season 2. See the announcement here.
Phase 1 β Maizenet: Seedingβ
The first phase of Corn's mainnet launch brought several key components online:
- Network Launch: The Corn Network went live with its canonical LayerZero bridge.
- Bitcoin Clearing House: Now, mints BTCN at a fixed 1:1 ratio with deposited cbBTC and wBTC.
- Application Deployment: World-class DeFi applications began launching on the network.
- Kernel Season 2: Applications early to launch on Corn distributed Kernels directly to users.
- Infrastructure Integration: Key partnerships and infrastructure providers came online.
The Seeding phase ended on March 28th, 2025 with the launch of the Corn token and the kick-off of network incentives. See the announcement here.

Phase 2 β Maizenet: Harvestβ
This phase consists of three key parts:
Part 1: CORN Token Generation Eventβ
- Launch of the $CORN token
- Community airdrop based on accumulated Kernels
- Introduction of on-chain incentives
Part 2: $CORN Stakingβ
- Introduction of $popCORN -- staked $CORN
- Enabling yield allocation mechanisms
- Governance over network fees and token emissions
Part 3: Farmer's Market Launchβ
- Opening of the network's bribe market
- Competitive reward mechanisms for $popCORN holders
- Direct value exchange between applications and token holders
This phased approach will continue to ensure secure and efficient deployment while maintaining the network's commitment to decentralization and community governance. Learn more about the Road to Maizenet here.
