⚪ Wrapped Bitcorn (wBTCN)

Introduction​

Wrapped Bitcorn (wBTCN) is a tokenized version of BTCN, Corn's native gas token. Similar to wETH on Ethereum, wBTCN enables users and developers to interact with smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) that require a token following the ERC-20 standard.

By wrapping BTCN into wBTCN, users and developers can leverage it in a wide range of DeFi applications while maintaining compatibility with the ERC-20 token standard.

wBTCN

wBTCN is backed 1:1 by BTCN. This means that for every wBTCN token in circulation, there is a corresponding BTCN token in its smart contract and, hence, the price of wBTCN is pegged to the price of BTCN.

How to Wrap BTCN into wBTCN​

The following guide can help you wrap BTCN through Curve's User Interface. If you prefer to do this proramatically, follow the steps below to deposit BTCN into the wBTCN contract using Cornscan.

Steps to Deposit BTCN into wBTCN​

  1. Open the Contract
    Visit the Wrapped BTCN Contract on Cornscan.

  2. Navigate to the Write Contract Section
    Scroll down and locate the Write Contract section.

  3. Connect Your Wallet
    Click the Connect to Web3 button and connect your wallet (e.g., Rabby or MetaMask).

  4. Search for the deposit() Function
    Find the deposit() function in the list of available contract functions.

  5. Input the Deposit Amount
    Enter the amount of BTCN you wish to wrap into wBTCN.

  6. Execute the Transaction
    Click the Write button to confirm and execute the transaction. Approve the transaction in your wallet to complete the deposit.

Post-Deposit​

Once the transaction is confirmed, the corresponding amount of wBTCN will be credited to your wallet. You can now use wBTCN across Corn's ecosystem for various decentralized finance activities.
