🌱 The Kernel
The Kernel system is Corn's off-chain point system for rewarding community engagement and activity. Kernels are not tokens and hold no monetary value, but they represent a user's share of the initial $CORN Community Airdrop.
Overview
- Kernels are off-chain points, not tokens, awarded to users through participation and engagement.
- Accumulation occurs by depositing assets, completing quests, and referrals.
- The Kernel Rate: 1 Kernel per 210 minutes for each $1 deposited in Corn's approved assets list.
- Juiced Silos: Some Silos provide multipliers for faster Kernel accumulation.

Architecture Notes
Kernels rely on Corn's Corn Silo infrastructure. Deposited assets are tracked off-chain, with Kernel accrual depending on each asset’s deposit duration and Silo-specific multipliers. Kernel points are updated and stored off-chain to keep the system efficient and easily accessible to a wide user base.
Key Components
- Asset Deposits: Users deposit approved ERC20 tokens and earn points over time.
- Juiced Silos: Select Silos offer bonus multipliers on Kernel accrual.
- Referral Rewards: A multi-tiered structure rewards users for inviting others to participate, incentivizing community expansion.
Governance Notes
The Kernel system is governed by Corn's off-chain protocol governance, with the ability to:
- Add/Modify Approved Assets: Governance can update the list of Kernel-earning assets.
- Adjust Multipliers: Silo multipliers and Kernel rates are configurable to adapt to user demand and ecosystem growth.
- Emergency Controls: Governance can suspend point accrual for maintenance or in response to unforeseen issues.
The Kernel system offers a dynamic, gamified way for users to engage with Corn and accumulate rewards, setting the stage for a strong community ahead of Corn's mainnet launch.
